Biography

Christina Nordstrom was born on May 4, 1837, in Brohyttan, Knista, Örebro, Sweden. She married Lars Fredrick Erickson on July 3, 1859, in Karlskoga. They settled in the Örebro area and had a family of ten children, four daughters and six sons, together. Christina and Lars were converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1879.
Five years later, in 1884, they emigrated to Utah with five of their children: Augusta, David, Gustaf, Marie, and Victor. Two of their older children, Annie and Jacob, also came to Utah at some point. Christina and her family traveled on the steamship "Arizona" from June 14th to 23rd. After they arrived in Utah, Christina and Lars settled in the Murray-Holladay area. She died on May 16, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 87, and was buried in the Elysian Burial Gardens.
