Biography
Anna Erichsen Poulsen was born on March 19, 1860 in Østre Gausdal, Oppland, Norway to Marit Jacobsdatter Bøe and Erich Poulsen Vaalen Tarud. Anna was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1873 at the age of thirteen along with several other family members. Anna was the first of her family to immigrate to Utah, arriving in Utah in 1881. Not long after her arrival, Anna married fellow Norwegian Johan Edvard Berg on July 21, 1881 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had nine children together through the years. Little is known about Anna’s life. She died on December 4, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah and was buried in the same city.
