Biography
Gustafva Carolina Carlgren Lofgran was born in Sweden in 1834. She accepted the gospel in 1854 along with her father, mother, and two brothers. However, she was not baptized until 1863 at the age of 29. She married her husband a few weeks after her arrival in Utah. She received her endowment in the Salt Lake City Endowment House five years later in 1874. Gustafva Carolina did not have children with her husband, but she was a beloved “Auntie” figure to the 10 children that her husband had with his second wife. She lived in her own house that shared a backyard with her husband and his second wife’s family. She was known for her “sweet disposition” and kindness. She died on July 15, 1902 in Utah and was buried in Santaquin, Utah.
